Leslye Headland Leaves Fans Hopeful With Talks of ‘The Acolyte’ Season 2: “There are conversations”

Next week, the final episode of ‘The Acolyte’ drops. It’s been quite the journey surrounded by controversy, some epic moments, and the extremely polarizing reception of the show.

While the cast members are hyping up the final episode of the show, Headland is teasing the future. Officially there is no news regarding the second season, I guess that will be decided when the final numbers regarding the viewership and profitability are assessed, however, Headland did have some news, leaving fans hopeful.

In her most recent interview with Nerdist, following the release of Episode 7, Headland confirmed that there are talks about the show getting a second season, but she has no idea when the decision will be made:

I have no idea. Well, not that I have no idea. I would say there are conversations . And I don’t know when that will happen. I don’t know when that decision will be made.

Previously, Headland confirmed that she pretty much threw everything at the board for season 1, but she does have a good idea of how to continue the story in the potential season if it happens, developing several more mysteries. She also claimed that her vision ideally involved at least 3 more season, but she could totally do this forever.

As I’ve already mentioned the decision will likely be made after the season is fully released, the latest Nielsen numbers have shown that ‘The Acolyte’ has the second-lowest “minutes watched” numbers, surpassing only ‘Andor.’

This doesn’t have to mean anything however, as ‘Andor’ managed to get a second season and it’s widely regarded as the best Star Wars live-action show.
