Manny Jacinto Reveals One Shocking Scene Was Filmed for ‘The Acolyte’ Finale But Was Eventually Cut: “just didn’t feel like it was appropriate”

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ recently released its final episode. The show teased two major cameos and wrapped most of its storylines while still leaving plenty of room to develop season 2 if it comes to it.

One of the storylines we might see develop in season 2 is the relationship between Osha and Qimir. The two were teased as a couple back in Episode 6 when Headland confirmed that the show is shipping them, and now in light of everything that transpired in the final episode, Jacinto also confirmed that the show heavily alludes to romance between them.

While this potential relationship so far on-screen developed through looks and subtle hints, Jacinto revealed in his interview with Vulture that they did shoot a scene for the final episode that included a kiss. However, it was cut due to being inappropriate and perhaps too rushed in light of everything that transpired:

I’m just going to put it out there. There was a version that we filmed where Osha and the Stranger actually kiss. […] But we felt that it may have not been too earned at that moment. I think it was just too early on.

The Stranger killed a bunch of her friends, and she just killed her fatherlike figure [Sol],” he explained. “For them to have this sensual moment just didn’t feel like it was appropriate. It’s just on the cutting-room floor. But I suggested, ‘Maybe not the kiss, but how about a hand-hold?’ Some sort of wanting to console, some sort of physicality that expresses that he cares for her and feels for her and that they’re in this together now. That’s something that, if we do a Season 2, maybe we can work toward, if the fans want it.

And fans definitely want more of Qimir and Osha, in fact, that’s one of the reasons why they were gathering on social media to demand the second season of ‘The Acolyte.’ As always however, Leslye Headland teased something dark in store for Osha and Qimir, her perfectly placed Darth Plagueis cameo basically steps on their moment and their relationship, as the showrunner herself said “there can only be two.”
