Marisa Tomei Says Her Favorite ‘Spider-Man’ Memory Is Watching Zendaya and Tom Holland Fall in Love Behind the Scenes

Spider-Man is without a doubt one of Marvel’s characters with the longest on-screen legacy. Despite the rights belonging to Sony the two studios somewhere down the line decided to collaborate and share the profits, so Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could get his own MCU-based series of movies.

Every Spider-Man needs his MJ, and so that honor in the MCU fell to Zendaya, one of the most popular young actresses in Hollywood today. Zendaya is not your typical MJ, she has a different origin story and a different name and has been described as a reinvention of the original character.

As fate would have it, Tom Holland and Zendaya fell in love on the set, and the romance continued beyond the confines of the screen. Marisa Tomei who plays May Parker in the MCU was recently asked during Fan Expo Canada what her favorite moments from the filming were, and she said that it were the moments during which Zendaya fell for Holland and vice versa:

Watching Tom [Holland] and Zendaya grow up and watch them fall in love.

Tomei has truly seen it all in the MCU, considering that the actress is at this point a veteran, she first appeared in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ her latest appearance being in ‘No Way Home.’

Tomei has witnessed the whole relationship. The relationship between the two stars was confirmed in July 2017 as they apparently started seeing each other while they were filming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming.’ As of August 2024, the pair is still together and they are described as having a rock-solid relationship. We truly hope that it continues to be rock solid.
