‘Spider-Man 4’ was confirmed to be in development last year, but there aren’t many details yet. We do know that Tom Holland and Zendaya will be back in their roles, and Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film.

Other than that, not much is known. However, even before ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ premiered, there were strong rumors that Venom & Knull would eventually join the MCU.

After the release of ‘Venom 3’, and if you’ve seen the ending, you can see how likely it is that Venom will join the MCU. Tom Hardy confirmed that he’s finished with the Venom trilogy, but he also said he’d be open to returning to the MCU, especially if it means fighting Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland.

Now during his most recent Discord AMA, Alex Perez shed some light on Knull’s respective appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man flick as well as the movie’s Multiversal nature, especially now that SSU is on its “deathbed,’ following abysmally reception and box office of ‘Kraven the Hunter’

Perez said that the idea of the Sony Universe ending is exaggerated. Sony will never give up the Spider-Man rights unless the company is bought out or someone pays an extremely high price for them. He still believes that Knull will appear in ‘Spider-Man 4,’ as he thinks several clues are coming together that point to his inclusion in the film.

Perez is saying that a lot has been revealed recently about the plot of ‘Spider-Man 4,’ with potential characters like Doom, Mephisto, Ghost Rider, Knull, Venom, and Daredevil possibly appearing.

He emphasizes that while his sources are reliable, many people won’t believe it until the studio confirms it. Perez also explains that both Marvel and Sony want this film to be a team-up movie, similar to how ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ were handled, with the goal of capturing that same dynamic but replacing Deadpool and Fox with Spider-Man and Sony.

But I’ll tell you this about Knull. I still believe we’re going to get to see him in Spider-Man 4. Too many pieces are falling into place at the same time. While we’re on the subject matter of “the endgame for Spider-Man 4”, A LOT has clearly transpired over the last few days or weeks when it comes to what the plot of this film is. Doom, Mephisto, Ghost Rider, Knull, Venom, Daredevil, etc. We need to focus on the primary fact that while I can trust my sources and trust my reporting, many of those of you reading won’t believe it until either the studio or a trade confirms it.

It could be all of those or it could be none. What I can tell you is what I’ve been told from my sources. And what I have been told is that both Marvel AND Sony want this film in particular to be a team up movie in the way that Marvel produced Deadpool and Wolverine. And that the end goal here is to recapture that same magic and team up dynamic but switch out Deadpool and Fox for Spider-Man and Sony.

Perez suggested that, given the multiverse setting of ‘Spider-Man 4,’ Venom (played by Tom Hardy) is the most likely character to team up with Spider-Man, over characters like Daredevil.

He also hints that the inclusion of both Venom and Spider-Man could lead to Knull being the final antagonist. Perez shares that two trusted sources mentioned Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will have a larger role in the film than they did in ‘No Way Home.’

As for Mephisto and Ghost Rider, he acknowledges these are new pieces of information for him, although Mephisto’s connection to Spider-Man isn’t surprising, especially after the “One More Day” comic storyline.

This would be quite an interesting approach, emulating what the MCU did with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ as long as Marvel Studios has the majority of creative control.
