Marvel & Sony Reportedly Eye A-List Star for Spider-Man 4 Villain Role!

‘Spider-Man 4’ was officially announced to be in development last year, though details remain scarce. What is confirmed is that Tom Holland and Zendaya will reprise their roles, with Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct.
Before the movie’s development was confirmed, rumors suggested it was torn between two directions: a Multiversal storyline continuing from ‘No Way Home’ or a grounded, street-level narrative featuring Daredevil and Kingpin.
After Robert Downey Jr. was confirmed to return to the MCU as Doctor Doom, Marvel Studios reportedly chose to pursue the Multiversal storyline.
Ever since the movie’s development was confirmed, rumors about potential villains have been swirling every week. Speculation ranges from Green Goblin and Hobgoblin to Knull, Vulture, and other iconic foes from Spider-Man’s rogues’ gallery.
Now notable industry insider Daniel Richtman shared on his Patreon that Marvel Studios and Sony have already offered a major actor the role of the main villain in Spider-Man 4.
There’s no talk regarding who the role was offered to.
Tom Holland stated that filming for Spider-Man 4 is set to begin in mid-2025. Additionally, the movie is officially scheduled to be released in theaters on July 24, 2026.
