The latest Marvel storyline One World Under Doom #1 just shook things up in a big way. Written by Ryan North with art by RB Silva, this issue kicks off a major crossover event with a shocking twist.

Doctor Doom has taken control of the entire planet. Every government is under his rule. But not everyone bows down. Baron Zemo leads HYDRA in a march on Latveria, looking to challenge Doom’s power.

At first, it seems like they strike a deal, but it’s a setup. Doom kills Zemo and replaces him with a robot. As his forces wipe out HYDRA soldiers, Doom drops another bombshell—he already killed the Red Skull too.

Both Zemo and the Red Skull were known for their brutal fascist beliefs. They were some of Captain America’s worst enemies, and they spent decades trying to spread their ideology. Doom, however, has no tolerance for them. His hatred for Nazis runs deep, and given his Romani background, it makes sense why.

But here’s the catch—Doom himself is no hero. He criticizes Zemo and the Red Skull for their actions, yet he rules Earth with the same iron grip. Anyone who rises against him is crushed. The issue even shows him sending Doombots to destroy an uprising.

The wildest part? Doom makes himself look like a savior. He tells the world that the Avengers spent decades fighting fascism, but he wiped it out in a day. Killing Zemo and the Red Skull was just a power move. Doctor Doom isn’t cleaning up evil—he’s replacing it with his own brand of tyranny.
