Marvel Finally Confirms That Moon Knight Will Be Back

Share:

It’s been two years since Moon Knight was introduced to the MCU. The character was introduced via his own standalone show, and he quickly became a fan favorite. Now considering that phase 4 started a lot of stories that it never finished, at least not for now, Moon Knight was just one of many characters that had a single appearance in the MCU and wasn’t referenced anywhere else.

Well, at least when it comes to Marvel Animation that is soon bound to change. During the D23 Marvel Animation panel, it’s been confirmed that the character will be back for the third and final season of ‘What If…?’

The Season 3 footage of ‘What If…?’ includes brief scenes of mechs battling Mega Hulk, Shang-Chi in a western setting, Wong in new armor, Red Guardian and Winter Soldier from the trailer, Moon Knight’s MCU return, and Ironheart with multiple Iron Legion drones. Moon Knight will join an Avengers team featuring Captain America (Sam Wilson) and Monica Rambeau, fighting gamma monsters in mechs.

It’s unknown whether Oscar Isaac will be back to voice the role, but it’s likely that will be the case, considering that plenty of other actors returned to voice their animated counterparts.

Except for the confirmed ‘What If…’ season 3 appearance, the character is also heavily rumored to appear in the unconfirmed ‘Midnight Sons’ project which is reportedly in the developmental stage at this point. There’s also ‘Marvel Zombies’ upcoming show which was rumored to feature Moon Knight, but he wasn’t shown in the exclusive footage so we can’t confirm that.
