Marvel Head Teases Exciting and Important Future for Ms. Marvel: “she is top of mind”

Kamala Khan has a bright future in the MCU. She will appear in several upcoming projects like ‘Marvel Zombies’ and will presumably be a leader of the new team she helped start on the big screen, The Young Avengers.

With the introduction of mutants in the MCU, Kamala, being one of the first confirmed mutants, will likely have a major role with these characters in the future. She’s been described as “Peter Parker” of this generation, and based on Winderbaum’s recent comments it looks like it’s going to turn out this way.

Winderbaum recently talked with THR regarding ‘What If…?’ season 3, Defenders in the MCU, and several other important topics for the future of the cinematic universe. He also addressed Ms. Marvel’s future and he had only words of praise.

Winderbaum says that he has a lot of admiration for Iman Vellani and the character she plays, Kamala Khan. He believes ‘Ms. Marvel’ is an important show to the MCU and Kamala will continue to play a major role in future MCU projects. While he can’t share too much, he’s excited about where her character will appear next.

I love Iman. She’s incredible. I love that character. I will tell you that she’s certainly a big part of the MCU to me. Ms. Marvel is a really important show to us, and without going into great detail, because I don’t want to spoil anything, she is top of mind. So it’s going to be exciting to see where she pops up next.

As we’ve already mentioned, Kamala will be one of the main characters of ‘Marvel Zombies,’ she will have an appearance in ‘What If…?’ Season 3 – and that’s just animation. The character will also reportedly be featured in ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ playing a “key” part alongside her fellow members of Young Avengers.

Kamala’s motivations are tied to Carol Danvers’ mission to rescue Monica Rambeau and unravel the mysteries of her bangle. She will also assume the leading role of the upcoming team.
