Marvel Is Releasing One More R-rated Movie This Year With the Potential To Surpass ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ in Its Brutality

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the most recent MCU installment. The movie turned out to be a massive hit with the audience and broke several box-office records. ‘Deadpool’ franchise as a whole is notable for being one of the highest-grossing R-rated franchises in history so when ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was first announced we knew that Disney would have to rate the movie R. It’s the only way for Deadpool to be faithfully adapted.

While MCU is slowly but surely turning toward more adult-orientated content, with the release of ‘Echo’ and the upcoming ‘Marvel Zombies,’ it seems that SSU is following in the same footsteps.

Yes, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is still a thing and we’re looking forward to the upcoming ‘Kraven the Hunter.’ The movie recently showcased a trailer and if the whole movie is anything like the trailer, we can expect quite a lot of bloody and gory action.

To be fair Sony teased ‘Venom’ and ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ like they are going to be rated “r” as well until ultimately settling on PG-13, with violence extremely toned down.

Still, if Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the movie’s star is to be believed, the movie is officially confirmed to be R-rated, and the actor has since teased what fans can expect.

In his past interview, Johnson stated that there is something really raw and brutal when it comes to Kraven the Hunter. The actor teased that he read ‘Kraven’s Last Hunt’ to prepare for the role and he was shocked by the brutality of it. In any case, the actor also teased that most Marvel fans are now old enough to watch R-rated movies:

I’m not a comic-book reader, but there’s one called Kraven’s Last Hunt…You just think, ‘What the fuck have I just read?’ That’s the kind of character I’m playing. But then, a lot of the people who grew up with Marvel are old enough now to watch an R-rated movie.

A recently released trailer for the movie revealed that Kraven will find some really inventive ways to kill his enemies. You can see the character stabbing people in the neck with tiger teeth, ripping their faces apart with bear traps, and slitting their throats with animal horns. We’re really looking forward to it!
