Marvel Reportedly Planning to Make Daredevil the Face of a New Street-Level MCU

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most anticipated MCU releases. Even though Matt Murdock already appeared in several MCU projects, his official integration into the MCU signals something that fans have been asking for a lot…the rise of street-level heroes in the MCU.

So far, most of the time, MCU has focused on stories larger than life, and Multiversal Saga, is no different. With all reality-breaking events and variants, fans now crave some good old-fashioned beat-up without too many superpowers involved.

This year’s release of ‘Echo’ was one such project, and it officially brought Netflix’s Defenders Saga into the MCU canon, but Daredevil will have a much more important role.

According to Alex Perez’s most recent Discord AMA, Marvel Studios will use Daredevil as a gateway for street-level stories in the MCU, and he will reportedly interact with the likes of Moon Knight and Yelena Belova.

idoideas: Are we going to see Daredevil blending more into the greater MCU? Should we expect him to fight alongside other Marvel heroes in a feature film?

Alex: Definitely. Marvel intends to use Daredevil as a gateway to new stories for street superheroes. In terms of interactions, we can expect, of course, the long-awaited team-up between Spider-Man and Daredevil. I’ve also heard of some ideas down the road for Daredevil to encounter other heroes, particularly Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight and Florence Pugh’s Black Widow. However, those are still just ideas down the road for different projects.

That Daredevil will be integrated more into a street-level side of the MCU has been rumored for quite some time now. A few months ago rumors were making rounds that ‘Spider-Man 4’ would be a street-level story with Spider-Man interacting with Daredevil and Kingpin. Unfortunately, the most recent rumors claim that the focus has shifted to Multiverse once again, disappointing some fans.

‘Moon Knight’ is also rumored to get a second season, and Florence Pugh’s Black Widow will make an appearance in the MCU next year with the release of ‘Thunderbolts*.’ The story of ‘Thunderbolts*’ has been criticized some far since it focuses on more or less street-level superheroes who are supposed to fight Sentry, one of the most powerful characters in Marvel comics, so we will see how that will turn out.
