The Scarlet Witch was first introduced as a secondary antagonist in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the second Avengers film in the MCU. Portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, Wanda Maximoff evolved into a key member of the Avengers and starred in her own streaming series, WandaVision.
She played a major role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where her transformation into a villain became a pivotal moment. Doctor Strange faced off against her to save the world, culminating in a dramatic showdown that ended with Wanda’s death in a heroic manner, which satisfied many fans.
Despite her apparent demise, there have been ongoing rumors about a potential future solo project for the Scarlet Witch. While the details remain uncertain, if the rumors are accurate, she may return in some form down the line.
With the buzz surrounding Deadpool & Wolverine and several major announcements, the Marvel rumor mill has been particularly active lately. According to the latest from The Cosmic Circus podcast, the planned Scarlet Witch solo project might be quietly shelved. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Elizabeth Olsen’s character is finished with the MCU.
