Marvel Rumored to Bring Street-Level Heroes Together in ‘Spider-Man 5’ with Daredevil Crossover

Rumors suggest that Marvel Studios is still moving forward with plans for a Spider-Man and Daredevil crossover.

Initially planned for Spider-Man 4, the concept involved Spider-Man joining forces with Daredevil to take on the infamous Kingpin, who now serves as the Mayor of New York City.

The crossover was envisioned as a grounded, street-level storyline, centering on their battle against crime in the city.

Unfortunately, last year’s Hollywood strikes disrupted those plans. Now, Spider-Man 4 is set to align with a larger Multiverse narrative, bridging two major Avengers films—Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

This change marks a departure from the original street-level concept, pivoting instead toward a grander, high-stakes storyline.

However, Marvel may still revisit the street-level approach in Spider-Man 5. According to Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus, the relationships between Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Kingpin are expected to develop further.

As Mayor of New York City, Kingpin uses his position to crack down on vigilantes, all while secretly advancing his criminal empire.

This storyline will not only play a pivotal role in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ but will also extend into the post-Secret Wars era.

Tom Holland, who brings Spider-Man to life, recently shared his excitement about the franchise’s direction. During a podcast, he revealed his enthusiasm for the script, which he had the chance to read alongside co-star Zendaya. While praising its potential, Holland acknowledged that a few details still need fine-tuning before production begins.

Marvel has officially slated Spider-Man 4 for release on July 26, 2026, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing and Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers penning the script.

Adding to the excitement, the film is set to feature Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and potentially other Spider-Men, such as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. This multi-dimensional adventure could redefine Spider-Man’s place in the MCU.
