A few months ago, rumors began circulating that Marvel Studios was developing a ‘Midnight Sons’ project, reportedly tied to the upcoming ‘Blade’ reboot. Although the studio has yet to make an official announcement, there has been a steady stream of news surrounding the project.

Last we reported was that ‘Logan’ writer, Michael Green has been hired to pen the script. However, this news was never exactly confirmed by the official sources.

The team’s roster in the MCU also allegedly leaked just a few months ago. You can expect Wong, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Night, & Man-Thing as the most likely members. Other names from most to least likely include Black Knight, Scarlet Scarab, Elsa Bloodstone, Dr. Strange, and even Agatha Harkness. The team will supposedly have 6-9 members.

Now latest rumor from Daniel Richtman, notable insider and leaker, is that Marvel Studios is speeding up the development of the movie and the search for director is currently underway.

All of this comes in light of recent news that ‘Blade’ reboot is currently on hold indefinitely. Several weeks ago we reported that the studio would decide on the fate of the project soon – and that “soon” has come now and brought nothing but bad news for the movie.

Yesterday, ‘Blade’ reboot was removed from the official 2025 release slate, and keep in mind that the movie has been delayed several times at this point, and changed several writers and directors.

Some inside sources claim that Mahershala Ali is the root of the problem and some blame poor script and story.

In any case, if the ‘Midnight Sons’ project turns out to be a legit project in development, it’s likely a replacement for ‘Blade.’
