‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is set to be released in less than four months, and fans are already excited. The show will bring back familiar characters, with Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen.
One of the most exciting characters to return to the show is also Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. The actor was confirmed both via interviews and some set leaks which showcase him fighting alongside Daredevil in some of the shots.
Marvel Head of Television and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum recently sat down with the Phase Hero podcast and commented on several MCU releases. One of them was ‘Daredevil Born Again.’ The exec confirmed once more that the show’s tone will be more aligned with the tone of Netflix’s original show and that it’s one of the most violent shows they have ever released.
Winderbaum was asked about Punisher’s potential future in the MCU, considering that he is one extremely dark character and something that the studio doesn’t deal with often.
Winderbaum confirmed that there’s definitely an MCU future ahead of Punisher:
100%. We feel the same way! He’s definitely great in the role. can’t wait for you to see him in this series. There is absolutely a future for him in the MCU afterwards.
Some recent rumors did point toward ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ leading to more spinoffs like the ‘Heroes for Hire’ project, but nothing has been hinted at in the context of Punisher.
