‘Agatha All Along’ is MCU’s most recent release. The show was unlike anything that Marvel released so far since it really focused on that magical and occult side of the MCU using relatively unknown characters.

Despite plenty of fans expecting review-bombing campaigns and boycotts due to the show’s DEI orientation. This didn’t happen. The show ultimately proved that none of that stuff matters as long as the show is good.

‘Agatha All Along’ ended its run with solid reviews, solid viewership, and as the cheapest production to date due to mostly relying on practical sets and effects. This all reflects on the show positively, boosting its future potential.

Also, the show had the highest viewer retention rate out of all MCU shows.

Brad Winderbaum the head of Marvel Television recently sat down with the crew at Phase Hero podcast and commented on the overall atmosphere currently at Marvel Studios. Winderbaum mentioned ‘Agatha All Along’ in the context of contributing to that atmosphere and confirmed that the show was successful.

You know ‘Agatha’ was a huge hit for us. That was I think a real achievement for the studio. First of all, Jac Schaeffer is an absolute genius, we get to walk around her imagination, and I remember getting those scripts and feeling like the audience what the audience felt when the episodes were coming out.

I would ask Jac “what happens next?” “is she really dead?” “where is this going?” And she was like “just wait, you’ll see in the next episode.” And I’d have to wait three weeks, you guys only had to wait for a week.

Winderbaum also addressed the fact that the studio is campaigning the show in the “comedy” category instead of the “limited series” category for the awards season. Due to this plenty of fans assumed that there’s hope for ‘Agatha All Along’ to get a second season.

All I can say is that everyone over here is as excited as you are to tell more stories about witchiness in the MCU.

This is an extremely positive update and can definitely be translated that there’s more in the works. Wiccan – who was introduced over the course of the series has been heavily rumored to get his own standalone show. There’s also that looming possible return of Scarlet Witch to the MCU, so you know, plenty of reasons to be excited about if this magical corner of the MCU is your thing!
