Marvel Comics is bringing the iconic Predator back to the pages in a brand-new anthology series, Predator: Black, White & Blood, set to launch in May 2025.

Following in the footsteps of similar collections featuring Wolverine and Aliens, this series will deliver thrilling new stories focused on the brutal and relentless alien hunter. One of the standout writers involved is Joe Kelly, with stunning cover art provided by Federico Vicentini, Mahmud Asrar, Paolo Villanelli, and Simone Di Meo.

Marvel’s Black, White & Blood series has become a hit with fans, combining intense storytelling with a striking visual style. These anthologies feature multiple short stories, all illustrated in black and white with splashes of red to emphasize the most dramatic moments.

The format was first introduced by DC Comics with Harley Quinn: Black, White & Red, but Marvel has since taken it further, releasing editions for Alien, Moon Knight, Marvel Zombies, Elektra, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Carnage. These collections have become popular not just for their unique artistic approach but also for their oversized treasury editions, which are particularly well-received in European markets.

The Predator franchise first appeared in the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, instantly becoming a sci-fi classic. Its success led to multiple sequels, spin-offs, and crossovers, including encounters with Alien and even Batman. In the world of comics, Predator made its debut under Dark Horse Comics in 1989, where it thrived for decades. Dark Horse published numerous stories exploring the alien race’s deadly hunts across different time periods and planets, including memorable battles against humans and other creatures.

However, after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the rights to Predator comics shifted to Marvel. While Marvel was eager to start new stories, legal disputes over the franchise delayed their plans. The legal battle mainly involved the movie rights, but the comic book projects were also put on hold until the dispute was resolved. Eventually, Marvel launched a new Predator series, introducing fresh stories while staying true to the franchise’s brutal nature.
