Marvel’s Clever Plan to Reintroduce the Strangest Deadpool Variant

which continues to screen in theaters worldwide, stars Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. For many fans, it was the year’s most eagerly awaited film. The long-anticipated team-up delivered on expectations, leaving most fans thrilled with the outcome.

While fans have already delved into many of the Easter Eggs and cameos, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘ remains captivating. Among the various iconic Marvel characters that made appearances, some were Deadpool variants, including one particularly bizarre character: Headpool. With Marvel’s future plans in mind, there’s an ingenious way to reintroduce Headpool to the MCU.

Headpool, voiced by Nathan Fillion, may have been mostly ineffective in the final battle—being just a decomposed flying head—but he remains one of the standout Deadpool variants from the film. His brief yet memorable cameo was a hit with fans, and while Marvel might not have grand plans for the flying head (beyond possibly making him a quirky mascot), there’s a clever way to reintroduce the character.

Headpool originates from the “Marvel Zombies” universe, first appearing in Marvel Zombies #3 (February 2006), created by Robert Kirkman and Sean Phillips. Though his comic book appearances have been limited, the MCU has a fantastic opportunity to bring him back.

If you recall the What If…? series, there was an episode featuring zombies, inspired by the “Marvel Zombies” alternate universe. While it’s too late to include Headpool in that episode, Marvel is developing a four-part miniseries titled Marvel Zombies, which will further explore the zombie universe within the MCU.

The series is expected to air around 2025 and will feature zombie versions of characters like Clint Barton / Hawkeye, Steve Rogers / Captain America, Emil Blonsky / Abomination, Ava Starr / Ghost, Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Ikaris, and Okoye. A

lthough Headpool isn’t listed among them, the series’ popularity and the time remaining before its release give Marvel a great chance to include him. It’s now up to Marvel to decide if they will take advantage of this opportunity.
