Marvel’s First ‘Spider-Man’ Series Has Cast Tom Holland’s Replacement

MCU has a wealth of projects on the horizon, with fans eagerly awaiting news about upcoming animation ventures alongside movies, streaming series, video games, and more. One exciting addition is a new Spider-Man animated series that promises to captivate fans in several ways.

Scheduled to debut later this year, this series, titled Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, is rumored to feature an animation style reminiscent of classic comics, which many fans will likely find visually stunning.

The series will also include appearances from various MCU characters, featuring both familiar and new voices. Although many fans hoped Tom Holland would lend his voice to the series, the MCU has cast a new actor to take on the role of Spider-Man.

As we recently reported, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is rumored to debut in November 2024 based on an unverified leak. However, if this date proves inaccurate, the series is still expected to premiere soon.

The show will be an animated series chronicling Peter Parker’s journey to becoming Spider-Man within the MCU, featuring a storyline and style that pays homage to the character’s early comic book origins. Jeff Trammel, the executive producer, will also serve as the head writer.

The cast includes Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, Kari Wahlgren as May Parker, Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Whittman, and Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn.

The series will also feature appearances from Tony Stark/Iron Man, Dr. Stephen Strange, Amadeus Cho, Pearl Pangan, Jean Foucault, Chameleon, Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Rhino, Tarantula, Butane, Speed Demon, Carmela Black, Unicorn, and Curt Connors, though their voice actors have not yet been announced.

While the series will introduce both new and familiar characters, Tom Holland will not reprise his role as Spider-Man. Instead, Hudson Thames, who voiced the character in What If…?, will provide the voice for Spider-Man. Here’s what the young actor had to say:

“I had no idea, it was kind of just a phone call In the middle of the day, I was like ‘I think you have the wrong guy’ and it just kind of happened out of the blue and was the most amazing surprise ever.”
