Marvel’s TVA Comic May Have Confirmed Scarlet Witch’s Fate After ‘Doctor Strange 2’ – And the Artist Backs It Up!
The fate of Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch, has been a mystery in the MCU ever since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hit theaters. At the end of the film, it seemed like Wanda had died, but as Marvel fans know, death isn’t always final—especially when there’s no body to confirm it. Now, a new comic book might provide some clues about what really happened to her.
Marvel recently released a TVA comic series. This comic is set in the multiverse, which suggests it could be connected to the MCU’s larger storyline.
The latest issue of the TVA comic contains an interesting detail: Spider-Gwen walks past what appears to be Scarlet Witch—possibly the same one from the MCU. While there’s no explanation yet, this moment raises a lot of questions about Wanda’s fate.
There are a few possibilities for what’s going on with Scarlet Witch. Could the TVA have captured her? Maybe they put her in cryo-sleep to keep her from causing more chaos—or to protect her. Another theory is that she might be the “anchor being” of Earth-616, the primary universe in the MCU.
For now, we don’t have clear answers, but this small reveal could hint at something much bigger. The next issue of TVA might provide more details, or it could just be a fun Easter egg for fans to speculate about.
What’s interesting is that the artist who worked on the issue Pere Pérez confirmed that the Scarlet Witch in the comics is Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch from the MCU:
It’s worth considering whether Marvel would actually confirm such an important storyline in a comic book rather than a movie or TV show. Since Kevin Feige became Chief Creative Officer in 2019, he has overseen not just the MCU but also Marvel Comics. This means it’s possible that storylines in the comics could now have a bigger impact on the films.
Even if Scarlet Witch is alive in the MCU, the big question remains: will Elizabeth Olsen return to play her? The actress has previously said she doesn’t miss playing the role, but big projects—and big paychecks—have a way of bringing actors back. If Marvel has plans for Wanda in future Avengers movies, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Olsen suit up again.
