Marvel is shaking up its upcoming superhero lineup, with a notable change to the Young Avengers project.
Industry insider DanielRPK revealed on his Patreon that the series has been rebranded as Champions.
This shift comes in response to concerns that some of the cast members no longer fit the “young” label, prompting a new title that better aligns with the team’s evolving direction.
The rebranding is also linked to the underperformance of The Marvels at the box office, with Marvel reassessing how its titles are viewed, particularly those featuring younger heroes or team-ups.
By moving away from the “Young” label, Marvel likely hopes to create a series with broader, more universal appeal.
While production for Champion hasn’t begun yet, reports indicate that Marvel is already searching for a showrunner to lead the project.
Although no official timeline has been set, the series could mark a new chapter for Marvel’s younger characters, free from the expectations attached to the original Young Avengers name.
