Since it was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con, the Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali, which will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been in development, which hasn’t gone splendidly so far. The studio turned down the original scripts, and new writers were hired.
The original director Bassam Tariq abandoned the project due to creative differences, and Yann Demange was later hired as a new director. A new series of problems arose recently when Marvel Studios was compelled to put the development on pause due to the ongoing WGA strike. The movie has already been delayed once, from November 2023 to September 2024, and now there’s a question if the movie will be finished by then since production was set to begin this month.
While Marvel Studios needs to wait for the situation with the strike to be resolved to continue the movie’s development, a new rumor has surfaced on the internet claiming to know who Mia Goth will play in the upcoming movie.
Mia Goth is rumored to star as Lilith in Blade!
According to a rumor recently surfaced on social media, Mia Goth, best known for starring in the X movie series, is set to play Lilith in the upcoming Blade movie! In Marvel Comics’ history, Lilith is the name of two fictional characters.
The first character was introduced in June 1974, while the second version of the character was introduced in August 1992. The first version of the character is depicted as a vampire and Dracula’s oldest daughter, while the second version is an ancient demon known as the Mother of All Demons. Although she was called a Vampire occasionally, she isn’t one.
So far, only the second incarnation of Lilith has been adapted into other media, but only video games. She was a boss in the 2007 video game Ghost Rider, made a cameo appearance in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and appeared in last year’s Marvel’s Midnight Suns. If this rumor proves to be true, the upcoming Blade movie will feature a live-action debut for the character of Lilith.
The Blade movie is set to star Mahershala Ali in the title role. Ali has previously starred in the Luke Cage series as Cornell Stokes, aka Cottonmouth, and he has already made a voice debut as Eric Brooks/Blade in the post-credit scene of Eternals. Mia Goth, Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Milan Ray are also set to star.
Written by Michael Starrbury and Nic Pizzolatto and directed by Yann Demange, Blade is set to be released on September 6, 2024. Suppose everything goes according to plan.
