Michael Fassbender Would Love To Return as David in Potential ‘Alien’ Project: ‘I Love Working with Ridley’

In 2012, the original ‘Alien’ franchise expanded in the past with the release of ‘Alien: Prometheus’ In ‘Prometheus,’ a group of scientists and explorers travel to a distant planet after discovering ancient clues that suggest humans were created by an alien race called the Engineers.

The follow-up movie ‘Alien: Covenant’ ties into these events. A colony ship called the Covenant is on a mission to a distant planet to start a new human settlement. They discover a remote world that seems perfect for colonization, but soon find it’s the home of a deadly alien species and the artificial lifeform David, who survived the events of ‘Prometheus.’

Even though the franchise has expanded once more, and we are eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Alien: Earth’ it seems that this prequel story won’t be touched anytime soon.

Still, the star of both movies Michael Fassbender who portrays David did not rule out reprising his role in the future.

In a recent interview, Fassbender expressed enthusiasm about possibly returning to the franchise, stating, “For sure.” He praised Ridley Scott, calling him “phenomenal” and “such an inspiration,” highlighting how difficult it is to make large-scale films and noting that Scott is a “master” at it.

For sure, I mean, I love working with Ridley. It was such a great experience. He’s phenomenal, he’s such an inspiration. You know, he does these big films. They’re so difficult to make, and he’s a master. He’s fantastic.

Fede Alvarez recently confirmed he is working on a sequel to ‘Romulus’ but he also confirmed that he is going to be venturing into uncharted waters, meaning we likely won’t revisit the storyline of the prequels:

Rodo [Sayagues, co-writer] and I are working on that right now. We’re excited about where it can go. We’ve almost checked all of the boxes of things that I want to see [in Romulus], and brought back a lot of the things I hadn’t seen in a while. Wherever we go now, we can go into uncharted waters.I think it’ll be so exciting to go with characters you know from this movie, to a place in the Alien franchise that we’ve never been before, and to discover things that you’ve never seen before.
