Miles Morales Enters the New Ultimate Universe in ‘Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion,’ a Five-Issue Limited Series
Marvel’s Ultimate Comics line is expanding with a major new story this May. Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion is a five-issue limited series from writers Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar, with artwork by Jonas Scharf.
This new chapter follows the foundations set by Jonathan Hickman in the relaunched Ultimate Universe. It brings Miles Morales back into the mix, making his way into the new Ultimate Universe for an adventure that ties into the five ongoing series in the line. The story will also pave the way for some major upcoming events, including the highly anticipated return of the Maker.
The story kicks off when Miles’ baby sister, Billie, discovers a key left behind by the Maker before he altered Earth-6160. Using it, she travels to the Ultimate Universe, forcing Miles to follow and rescue her. But things quickly spiral out of control.
The Ultimate Universe has never been a safe place for Spider-Men, and when the Spot launches an attack, Miles finds himself teaming up with a brand-new Peter Parker. And that’s just the beginning of his journey through this unfamiliar world.
Deniz Camp shared his excitement about the project, saying:
“It’s a pleasure, and a privilege, to get to be part of the Ultimate Universe’s first crossover, along with Cody and Jonas, and to play in the Spider-sandbox for the first time. I’ve had a great time writing not just Miles, but a couple of other Spider characters folks might be familiar with! To get to explore the different corners of the Marvel universe through Miles’ eyes, and further develop characters we’ve introduced in ULTIMATES—well, it’s going to be a series full of rich characters, big firsts, and big swings!”
Cody Ziglar echoed the enthusiasm, adding:
“It’s hard to put into words just how excited I am to bring Miles back towards the universe that started my love for super hero comics as well as the place that Miles originated. Deniz and co. have done some incredible stuff in the new Ultimate line and I’m excited to finally get a chance to have Miles confront being a kid born of two different worlds.”
With the return of the Maker looming and a major crossover unfolding, Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion is set to be a can’t-miss event for Marvel fans.
