Despite several Phase 4 and Phase 5 MCU movies being flops, you can always count on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise to deliver some decent results. The same was the case for the latest installment in the franchise, which is according to a decent amount of fans hailed as the best installment.

The threequel focused on High Evolutionary and Rocket’s tragic history with the villain, it was always an emotional send-off for the core team members, as the old Guardians disbanded and were replaced by new members under the leadership of Rocket Raccoon.

Much of the cast reprised their roles from previous installments, and among them was supposed to Miley Cyrus who voiced Mainframe. Mainframe is an artificial intelligence who founded the Mainframe Ravager Clan and is also a member of Stakar Ogord’s Team and the United Ravagers.

The character does appear in the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ but with a different voice.

Gunn addressed the recasting back when the movie was released in 2023 and was asked by fans why Miley wasn’t in the movie. The director explained that Miley was unavailable, we can only speculate that the attempt was made to bring her back but she just couldn’t make it work. Gunn also confirmed that Mainframe from Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 are the same character.

Mainframe was ultimately voiced by Tara Strong, an MCU veteran better known to fans as voicing Miss Minutes in two seasons of ‘Loki’ show.
