Hulu has officially ordered a new comedy series called Not Suitable For Work, created by Mindy Kaling. This half-hour show will focus on a group of young professionals in their 20s trying to balance their careers and personal lives in New York City’s upscale Murray Hill neighborhood.
Kaling, known for hits like Never Have I Ever and The Sex Lives of College Girls, is teaming up again with writer and producer Charlie Grandy (Velma). The series was highly sought after by multiple networks before landing at Hulu.
In addition to this new project, Kaling has also renewed her partnership with Warner Bros. Television Group. She first signed a deal with the studio in 2019, and they moved early to extend their agreement before it expired in May 2025. This means Kaling will continue to develop and produce shows exclusively for Warner Bros. TV.
Kaling has been busy with several successful projects. She co-created The Sex Lives of College Girls on Max, produced the animated series Velma, and has a new show, Running Point starring Kate Hudson, coming soon to Netflix.
Not Suitable For Work will join Hulu’s lineup of comedies, including the hit show Only Murders in the Building and upcoming series Mid-Century Modern and Chad Powers.
Fans of Kaling’s witty and relatable storytelling can look forward to another fun and engaging series when Not Suitable For Work premieres!
