Before Deadpool & Wolverine was released, there were a ton of rumors suggesting we might see Morena Baccarin return as Lady Deadpool, but the role ultimately went to Blake Lively. The actress simply returned as Vanessa and really had a small role, just a few scenes at the beginning and the movie’s end.
In a recent interview on The Playlist’s podcast, The Discourse, Morena Baccarin talked about her new thriller Elevation with Anthony Mackie and shared thoughts on what changed between Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.
She joked at first, saying, “Yeah, I was hardly on set. That was the big difference.” After that, she explained more about the changes behind the scenes and during filming.
Yeah, I was hardly onset. That was the big difference. No, I’m kidding. It was a huge film in general. You know, Marvel is a big studio and they do things a certain way. So it did feel very different from [the others]. I mean, you have to remember the first film was essentially an independent, big-budget film, relatively speaking.
But not at the scale of what it is now. And we were making this film that was a little odd – like it was our sense of humor, but are other people going to think it’s funny? So it felt very, very different and very indie at the time, actually.
What did you think of Morena’s Role in Deadpool & Wolverine? Would you like it if she had a larger role? Let us know in the comments below.
