‘Venom: The Last Dance’ was recently released. The final installment in the ‘Venom’ franchise has so far seen moderate success with audiences and critics, and a massive success in Asian countries based on the latest data.

If you recall, the movie was originally supposed to be released on November 8, but its date was shifted to October 25 to avoid the presidential election chaos.

This was a wise move, but even in this chaos, an increasing number of moviegoers cited movies as a way to escape the chaos of the election. By all means and the data currently available to us, Donald Trump will be returning to the White House, but a large number of the public has sought comfort and a way to escape the uncertainty by watching movies.

At least according to the report by Variety. On Election Day, many people, like Hana Slevin in New York, are heading to the movies to escape the stress of the election. Choosing films like ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ or ‘Juror #2,’ they are taking a break from constant news updates and election coverage.

With the election being a tense and emotional event, cinemas provide a welcome distraction, allowing moviegoers to relax and focus on entertainment instead of the political turmoil.

I wanted to get my mind off the election,” Chris Griggs, a 58-year-old comedian from New York, shared his thoughts after watching ‘Juror #2. Chris Griggs chose to watch Clint Eastwood’s legal thriller, feeling it was fitting due to its focus on the justice system. He values movies as a way to escape reality, though in this case, the film only offered a brief break from the ongoing election stress.

58-year-old Danny Casillas from Los Angeles chose to watch ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ on Election Day, hoping it would help lift his spirits. He figured the election results wouldn’t be finalized on Tuesday, so he decided to escape the political tension for a while with a movie.

As much as I’m worried for our future as a country, I’m going to go disappear for two hours. Then, I’ll look at the polls on the east coast.

And this is how it should be, movies are a wonderful way to escape reality, and this is why a lot of fans are bothered by the dominant political themes that are sometimes shoehorned into movies. The shoehorning so far affects everything from fiction to rom-coms to even superhero movies. But ultimately you can argue that superheroes in general always had political themes.
