We are already used to the MCU expanding its canon through a whole range of series on the Disney+ streaming service and thus preparing the characters for bigger things that we will witness on the big screen. 2022’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ served as a follow-up to 2021’s ‘WandaVision’ series, and now, this year’s ‘The Marvels’ will serve as a crossover movie that isn’t only a sequel to 2019’s ‘Captain Marvel,’ but also a follow-up to three Disney+ series; ‘WandaVision,’ ‘Ms. Marvel,’ and ‘Secret Invasion.’

The upcoming 33rd MCU movie ‘The Marvels’ is just around the corner, and although we are aware that we won’t hear a lot about the movie from its actors and writers due to the ongoing strikes, the directors are still able to talk about it. The movie’s director, Nia DaCosta, recently teased a sisterhood relationship between three main characters. Now, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who directed the first and last episode of the ‘Ms. Marvel,’ was recently asked if there’s a chance for the second season.

Adil & Bilall praise Iman Vellani’s performance as Kamala Khan and talk about the potential ‘Ms. Marvel’ Season 2

Speaking with The Playlist in their ‘The Discourse’ podcast, the directing duo was recently asked if the second season of ‘Ms. Marvel’ is currently in development, and although the answer sounds discouraging at first, the directors said they’re taking one step at a time, and the next step is currently ‘The Marvels.’ However, even if ‘Ms. Marvel’ doesn’t get a second season; Adil & Bilall would be down to work on any Marvel project they’re offered.

“We’re waiting for ‘The Marvels,’ so that will decide what the next step will be. So we’re very much looking forward to that. I can’t wait to see it, man. It’s great to see the trailers and to see the whole family back there and Iman Vellani doing great work, so looking forward to that.

If they ask us to come back to ‘Ms. Marvel,’ we love the universe, we love those characters, and Iman, and all of the other supporting actors there, so it would be an honor to come back and explore some more.

There is a Moroccan superhero we forgot to name that exists, so we can go there. And, you know, we love ‘Blade.’ Our buddy Yann Demange is now doing ‘Blade.’ If Yann doesn’t want to do the second movie, we’re still there. And ‘Deadpool’ – we’re always there for ‘Deadpool.’ If there’s a fourth one, we’re also game, so if they call us, we’re good.”

Apart from working on ‘Ms. Marvel,’ Adil & Bilall are best known for directing ‘Bad Boys for Life.’ They are also known for the ‘Batgirl’ movie, which DC Studios axed last year when the movie was already in post-production. Before the strikes began, they were working on the next installment of the ‘Bad Boys’ franchise, but the project is currently on hold, just like all the other movie and television productions in the USA at this moment.

‘The Marvels’ is scheduled to open in theaters on November 10, 2023. ‘Ms. Marvel’ is now streaming on Disney+.
