‘Ne Zha 2’ Becomes the 5th Highest-Grossing Movie Ever After Surpassing ‘The Force Awakens”

The animated movie Ne Zha 2 has reached a new milestone! It is now the 5th highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide. The Chinese film has earned over $2.085 billion, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $2.071 billion.

Most of Ne Zha 2’s earnings come from China. The movie has made about RMB 14.86 billion ($2.054 billion) in the country. Experts predict that the final total in China will be RMB 15.2 billion ($2.1 billion).

Outside China, Ne Zha 2 has made over $31 million so far. The movie will soon be released in more countries, including Indonesia (March 21), Japan, and parts of Europe.

The movie is also performing well in IMAX theaters. It has earned $155 million from IMAX screens, making it the 6th biggest IMAX release ever. Most of this revenue ($151.6 million) comes from China.

In the UK, IMAX screenings accounted for 35% of the movie’s preview earnings, making it the biggest local-language opening for the format.
