New ‘Avengers’ Game Reportedly in Development – Won’t Be Connected to Square Enix!

‘Marvel Rivals’ only recently launched, and the game has seen an overwhelmingly positive reception among the fans. Now it seems that the studio is trying to capitalize on the hype as it seems that a new ‘Avengers’ game might be in development.

The rumor comes from industry insider Daniel Richtman who shared the information with his followers on Patreon. The game reportedly won’t be connected to ‘Marvel’s Avengers,’ developed by Crystal Dynamics and originally published by Square Enix.

The reception of ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ was mixed, with praise for its engaging single-player campaign, distinct hero abilities, and the introduction of Ms. Marvel as a standout character. However, critics pointed out issues with repetitive gameplay, technical problems, and an uninspired endgame that failed to maintain excitement.

While some found the superhero action enjoyable, many felt the game fell short due to its grind-heavy design and lack of variety.

The game faced major problems with bugs and a lack of content, causing many players to lose interest shortly after its launch. Matchmaking in multiplayer was impacted as player numbers dropped drastically, and critics pointed out that the late-game content lacked variety and felt grind-heavy.

Attempts to fix issues, like adding XP boosts for real money, were poorly received, with many feeling the game prioritized monetization over delivering a polished and engaging experience.

This is why the overwhelming fan reaction to these rumors was hope that Square Enix wouldn’t have anything to do with the game. Instead, the fans would love for Insomniac Games to develop it as the studio is behind ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man Series,’ a highly successful franchise that has since captivated many fans.

We don’t know whether these rumors are connected to something that we reported several months ago. Popular industry insider with a somewhat mixed track record MyTimeToShineHello reported that Marvel Studios is reportedly working on developing a video game that will take place in the MCU.

Since then, we had no news related to that nor did we get official confirmation from the studio.
