Even though James Gunn and Peter Safran stated several times in the past that ‘Superman’ is the true start of the DCU, the cinematic universe is kicking off in the technical sense on December 5, 2024, with the release of ‘Creature Commandos.’

‘Creature Commandos’ is an upcoming adult animated TV series based on the DC Comics team of the same name, it will be the first show in the DCU. The series follows a black ops team of monsters put together by Amanda Waller. All seven episodes are written by James Gunn, who is also the showrunner, while Yves “Balak” Bigerel is the supervising director.

Since the show is highly anticipated we are not surprised by the fact that spoilers and leaks are already making rounds online. An X user going under the username ThwipT decided to share some leaks with his audience. Keep in mind that calling ThwipT’s track record with leaks “mixed” would be generous.

However, their recent leak holds more water than usual. The press had been given access to the show this part is true enough and so the user’s source seems legitimate.

According to the leaker, James Gunn makes an appearance in the show, and Lisa Frankenstein is one of the surviving members of the team. At the end of the show, a new Creature Commandos lineup is formed. Additionally, Batman’s shadow is seen at one point.

If these leaks turn out to be true, it seems that the show will follow the usual Gunn recipe. The biggest leak is definitely Batman’s shadow as it implies that Dark Knight will debut in the DCU before Superman. Based on some specific details on the silhouette we just might be able to make out what kind of suit Gunn is going for.

The ‘Creature Commandos’ cast includes Steve Agee as John Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, and Anya Chalotra as Circe. Frank Grillo voices Rick Flag Sr., while Sean Gunn plays both G.I. Robot and Weasel.

Other notable voice actors include David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus, Indira Varma as the Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, with Benjamin Byron Davis voicing Rupert Thorne and several guest roles.
