Fantastic Four: First Steps is a film that Marvel and Kevin Feige are heavily invested in. After two unsuccessful attempts to market the superhero group, the MCU is pulling out all the stops to deliver a Fantastic Four project that fans will love and that fits seamlessly into the MCU.
Although the film’s release is still some time away, we are receiving more information and rumors as we go. Recently, it was confirmed that filming will take place in Spain, with the Calatrava serving as the headquarters of the United Nations in the movie.
Given this detail, one can’t help but wonder if the film will revisit the iconic scene from Captain America: Civil War, which also featured the United Nations. Here are some possibilities.
We know that filming for the movie will take place in Spain, which will serve as the “headquarters” of the United Nations. Although we don’t have specific details about the story yet, some fans speculate that the United Nations might reference Captain America: Civil War, which featured a key scene set at a UN meeting.
As you might recall, a bomb exploded during a UN meeting in Vienna, killing T’Challa’s father, T’Chaka. This bombing, caused by Bucky Barnes, was a crucial turning point in the story.
Could something similar happen in the Fantastic Four film? While there are various possibilities, it’s hard to see how Galactus would benefit from chaos at the UN. However, since the Fantastic Four is set in a different universe, this could hint at Doctor Doom, which would be intriguing.
Recently, we reported that the director confirmed there will be no additional superheroes in the movie he’s making.
“The great thing about this is we’re building a new universe where there are no other heroes. It’s the Fantastic Four.”

With this in mind, it’s interesting to think about the importance of the United Nations scene. While we don’t believe it will directly tie into the MCU scene or feature Galactus, a reference to Doctor Doom could be both impactful and enjoyable for fans. After all, that’s what everyone hopes for, right? Here’s to wishing for the best!
