New Rumor Hints ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 3’ Could Be Released in 2027
Plans for the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise may be bigger than we thought. While we’re not even a year out from the release of the sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, it looks like Blumhouse and Universal Pictures already have a third film lined up.
According to @Katsterlingfan on Twitter (see below), sources have said that filming for Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 could begin just six months after the sequel’s release, aiming for a 2027 launch, possibly toward the end of the year. However, fans are advised to take this with a grain of salt.
The news isn’t too surprising. The first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie made over $297 million on a budget of just $20 million. Even with the movie streaming on Peacock the same day it hit theaters, it did incredibly well, setting a record for Blumhouse. If the second movie performs similarly, the third film could get the green light quickly.
Blumhouse's 'FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 3' will reportedly begin filming 6 months after the second movies release and they are looking at a potential 2027 release. (Maybe late 2027)

Fans have already seen a teaser poster for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, featuring Toy Freddy, and there’s a lot of buzz. The sequel will bring back key cast members like Josh Hutcherson (Mike Schmidt) and Matthew Lillard (William Afton). As we get closer to the sequel’s release, more details should start trickling out.
If the third film does get started, it will be interesting to see if the series follows in the footsteps of Sonic the Hedgehog or fizzles out like some other video game adaptations. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how the second movie does at the box office.
