Despite announcing a reduced creative output, it seems that Marvel Studios has plenty of projects in active development, and one of them is the live-action ‘Nova’ show. The show has been in development for quite some time now and it was only recently confirmed to be a legit developing project by Marvel Execs.
Back in July Feige confirmed that ‘Nova’ was in development, that it’s going to focus on Richard Rider, and that the show is still 3-4 years away from being released.
Knowing Nova storylines we can expect a lot of cosmic adventures, and this is something that Brad Winderbaum, Marvel exec recently confirmed in his interview with Phase Zero Podcast.
According to him, the show takes inspiration from ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica.’

With shades of ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ we can expect a lot of exploration and cosmic conflicts, and that’s something that Nova Corps. resolve in any case. Not much is known about the show, and not much is known about the actor behind Richard Rider, but several months ago it was rumored that Ryan Gosling was in talks to play the main character in the show.
At the time we had no idea that MCU’s primary Nova would be Richard Rider, so looking back to the rumor, Gosling does seem to be a good fit. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
