Fans of Frank Grillo are certainly excited about his upcoming role in the DCU as Rick Flag Sr. But, before moving onto “enemy camp” Grillo debuted as Crossbones in the MCU. The actor however admits that one aspect of his career at Marvel was extremely unfortunate, as he was “almost fired 36 times.”

ComicBook recently interviewed Frank Grillo about his new movie, ‘Long Gone Heroes,’ and the actor admitted he has to be careful regarding what he is saying:

You know, unfortunately, there’s nothing I can really say that wouldn’t get me in trouble. So I kind of have to step back and go, ‘I take the fifth. I am so bad at this. Like, Marvel almost fired me 36 f—ing times because I don’t know. I never want to lie. And so, I do that a little too much. But I’ve been warned.

Fans were quick to compare Grillo to Tom Holland as the actor spoiled several iconic movies ahead of release, either through social media or through interviews by not paying attention to what he is saying. The actor spoiled sequels, endings, character deaths, movies, character appearances, and everything in between until he got a stage babysitter in the form of Benedict Cumberbatch.

But back to DCU and Grillo, the actor admitted that he is very pleased regarding what he is doing with DC, and quite frankly it shows since the actor regularly updates fans on his personal social media from the set of ‘Peacemaker.’ Aside from ‘Creature Commandos,’ and ‘Peacemaker’ the actor is expected to appear in ‘Superman’ at least according to photo leaks from the set.

Grillo was asked whether he would return to the MCU if asked, and he had a wise answer:

I don’t know, at this point in my life, all the things that I thought were real and true, I’ve learned as a man who’s now matured, that if they ask me to do that, I would love to go back and do it. And I’m loving what I’m doing with DC.

I love James Gunn and Peter Safran and they’ve given me an amazing opportunity. But at this point, I’m happy about everything I’ve done and I’m certainly willing to…if they meet me, if there’s something great to go do, I would certainly be ready to go do that.
