George Lucas’s Star Wars franchise has an incredible history, evolving from modest beginnings into one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises of all time. When A New Hope first premiered, it wasn’t yet the massive hit we know today, but over time, it has gained an enormous fan base and cultural influence.

Given the franchise’s popularity, it’s no surprise that fans—especially collectors with a passion for Star Wars—are willing to go to great lengths to acquire rare memorabilia.

Next week, a notable auction will be held, featuring a full Stormtrooper costume from the original 1977 A New Hope movie. Many anticipate this iconic piece could fetch an astounding price, capturing the attention of collectors around the world.

Stormtroopers might not be the most beloved characters in Star Wars. Often viewed as comic relief due to their notoriously poor aim, they’re rarely fan favorites, despite their backstory and significant role in the franchise.

But imagine owning an actual, screen-used Stormtrooper suit—not a Halloween replica, but one of the real costumes from the set of A New Hope. This is the suit seen in the iconic opening scene where Darth Vader storms Leia’s ship.

For any die-hard Star Wars fan, owning such a piece of cinematic history would be a dream, regardless of their feelings about Stormtroopers. And soon, that dream could become a reality as this authentic costume is set to be auctioned off.

On November 14, 2024, Propstore Auction will offer fans a chance to own rare Star Wars memorabilia from the original 1977 film. Highlights include a fourth draft script estimated at £8,000, a Stormtrooper E-11 Blaster Rifle valued at around £120,000, and a full, authentic Stormtrooper costume.

Only 30 of these costumes were made for the film, and this particular one was worn by British stuntman Reg Harding, with his name still marked on it.

The helmet and armor each have a guide price of £500,000, bringing the estimated total to £1,000,000—and it could go for even more. If you’re ready to bid, mark your calendar, because this auction is just a week away!
