As everyone knows, Blade is a highly anticipated Marvel Studios project that will introduce the iconic antihero to the MCU. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali will take on the title role, with Mia Goth playing Lilith. Fans of the famous vampire hunter are eagerly awaiting this film.

However, despite its high anticipation and a tentative release date set for 2025, the project has faced numerous production delays and problems. The specifics of these issues remain unclear. Although we’ve received some reassuring updates recently, there are still some fans calling for the project’s cancellation.

In response, Wesley Snipes, the original Blade from the first film series, decided to address the fans calling for the project’s cancellation. He had the perfect response, which we are sharing with you here.

As we mentioned, the status of the upcoming Blade movie remains unclear. Despite receiving numerous positive updates, many consider the film to be in developmental hell, causing some fans to worry. Meanwhile, other fans are not concerned at all and are even calling for the film’s cancellation, which seems somewhat odd.

These fans want Wesley Snipes back in the role. Seeing this, Snipes responded in the most hilarious way possible, telling fans, “Y’all, crazy! hahaha.” This appeared on his official Instagram:

As you can see, Snipes fully supports Mahershala Ali and the new Blade film, alongside the actors involved. Ali will get his chance to play the legendary comic book antihero.

Following his Oscar victory, Mahershala Ali had a significant impact on the Blade project, viewing the character as his own Black Panther. Despite hiring writer Nic Pizzolatto and planning to start production in May 2023, the SAG-AFTRA strike caused major delays, disrupting everyone’s schedules. Since then, the project has evolved, with Michael Green taking on the role of writer.

The film is expected to focus on Blade in the present day, with the character hunting vampires. Initially, it was planned as a period piece centered on Blade’s daughter and Lilith, played by Mia Goth.

However, Shelby Weiser, Ali’s lawyer, recently voiced frustration over the ongoing delays, noting that filming has yet to begin despite the 2019 agreement. These production delays have sparked rumors, including suggestions that Ali may have abandoned the project. Nevertheless, assurances have been given that everything will turn out well, so we can only trust these statements and hope for a release soon.
