Padmé’s Return? Natalie Portman in Talks for ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Cameo

Originally planned as a miniseries, ‘Ahsoka‘ evolved into discussions about a second season, depending on the success of the first. After the show’s full release in October 2023, Dave Filoni shifted his focus from his upcoming ‘Star Wars’ crossover film to exploring a follow-up season for ‘Ahsoka.’

In January 2024, Lucasfilm confirmed that Filoni was officially working on ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2, aligning with his new role as Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer, where he oversees future Star Wars projects.

While details about the second season remain scarce, Filoni recently shared an update. He revealed that he is deeply involved in writing the new season as its sole writer. Although he enjoys the process, he admitted that crafting and resolving the story arcs has been a challenging but rewarding experience.

Recently, it’s been confirmed that Rory McCann will be stepping in to replace Ray Stevenson who portrayed Baylan Skoll in the show, and there have been some rumors that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin.

Now the latest rumors are that Natalie Portman is in talks to return as Padmé Amidala in the second season of the show. The rumors are brought to us by SFF Gazette and have so far remained unconfirmed by official sources.

Considering that Padmé is, at that point in Star Wars times chronology, dead it would most likely be a cameo flashback scene or she would return in a manner similar to Christensen’s Anakin. But this is just our speculations, as I’ve mentioned before we don’t know whether Portman is truly in talks to reprise her role in the franchise.

Natalie Portman has expressed interest in returning to the role in the past. Speculation hints that Padmé might appear through the World Between Worlds, where Ahsoka encountered Anakin Skywalker in the first season.
