Blake Lively is currently facing a major challenge in her career due to a legal battle with her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star, Justin Baldoni. Since filing her lawsuit, Lively has kept a low profile, which has led to a lot of speculation about her upcoming Hollywood projects, including the sequel to her 2018 film ‘A Simple Favor.’

Recently, rumors started spreading that Lively had quit the movie, leading some to believe the sequel was canceled. In response, the film’s creator, Paul Feig, stepped in to set the record straight about the status of ‘A Simple Favor 2.’

Even before the project was completed, many fans doubted the sequel would happen due to rumors of a feud between the two stars, Lively and Anna Kendrick. However, it appears that any issues between them, if they existed, have been resolved, and they are now working together to make the sequel a reality

In May 2022, it was announced that a sequel to ‘A Simple Favor’ was happening, with Paul Feig returning to direct and Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively set to reprise their roles. Lionsgate and Amazon MGM Studios will co-produce the film.

In March 2024, Amazon officially approved the sequel, and several other cast members, including Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Nikita T. Salahuddin, Rebecca Satine, Linda Ho, and Camryn McCormack, will also return.
