Though smaller in scale compared to other MCU films, ‘Ant-Man’ franchise has had a big impact by introducing new technology, characters, and storylines that continue to affect the larger MCU, especially with the multiverse at play currently and quantum realm.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,’ the latest installment in the franchise also kickstarted MCU’s phase 5 and was supposed to introduce Kang the Conqueror, the main villain of the Multiversal Phase.

The movie flopped. It received mixed reviews at best and is considered a true box office bomb earning $476.1 million when it needed $600 million to break even.

Soon after the release of the movie, Majors was also arrested and later sentenced on assault charges, and that pretty much sealed the deal on Kang the Conqueror. Following this incident, and the unsuccessful release of ‘The Marvels’ the studio reportedly scrapped the planned ‘Ant-Man 4’ installment, and now the fate of the characters involved is uncertain in the MCU.

Paul Rudd recently addressed rumors surrounding his involvement in the upcoming Avengers films, Doomsday and Secret Wars. While promoting his new movie, Death of a Unicorn, Rudd was asked if he had been in touch with the Russo brothers and he responded with a cryptic answer:

As far as the Russos, they have my number. They know where I’m at, and that’s all I can say. I don’t really know how to play these things.

When asked if he had any plans to travel to London soon, where Avengers: Doomsday is set to begin production, Rudd gave a sly response:

Isn’t everyone traveling to London soon now in this business?

Both Doomsday and Secret Wars at this point have over 50 rumored characters that are supposed to appear in the movie but only a few have been confirmed. It’s safe to say that we’re not getting anything out of Rudd though.
