New ‘Thunderbolts*’ Photos Suggest That One Secret Member of the Team is Yet to Be Revealed

Thunderbolts*’ is easily one of the most exciting upcoming projects in the MCU. So far the movie is expected to introduce a team similar to DC’s ‘Suicide Squad’ comprising of former villains and anti-heroes who are presumably, now on a better path in the MCU.

The movie will also introduce Sentry, one of the most powerful Marvel characters, played by Lewis Pullman.

Currently, judging by the first trailer and what we’ve seen from the promo images and trailer, we seemingly know all the members of the team. David Harbor will return to reprise his role as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen is returning as Ghost, Sebastian Stan is returning as Bucky Barnes and Wyatt Russell is returning as John Walker aka U.S. Agent.

Olga Kurylenko will reprise her role of Taskmaster and Florence Pugh naturally will return as Yelena Belova aka MCU’s new Black Widow.

The team is expected to be led by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She was also revealed to be the new owner of the Avengers tower, which will presumably be repurposed into Sentry’s Watchtower.

Now the lineup is clear enough, but the recent stills released along with the trailer led fans to speculate that one member of the team is secret, or rather it wasn’t revealed yet. It’s mostly due to this photo that showcases the team’s lineup with too big of a gap between Yelena and Bucky. It seems as if someone was photoshopped out the scene:

Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed and the scene was most likely set up this way to showcase Red Guardian, however, there are some possible members of Thunderbolts that are currently in the MCU but were not announced as part of the lineup.

Over the long history of the team in the comics, there were close to 50 characters that were part of the team some pretty minor and irrelevant and some truly big. Some of the most notable members of the team from the comics that are also a part of the MCU include Baron Zemo, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and The Punisher.

We can most certainly rule out Deadpool since it’s too soon for him to appear in another MCU project, and likely, The Punisher can be ruled out as well, since he is yet to debut in the MCU with the release of ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

This leaves Baron Zemo, and Hawkeye as possible recruits. When it comes to less-known characters, we can possibly hope to see America Chavez, Luke Cage, and Abomination.

Among all these names, there’s yet another name that technically is not part of the MCU, but fans would love to see her reprise her role. We’re talking about Chole Bennet’s Daisy aka Quake from ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Daisy is introduced as a skilled hacker and member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team. Initially, she goes by the alias “Skye,” having been raised in a mysterious and troubled background.

Over the course of the series, it is revealed that Daisy is actually an Inhuman, a group of individuals with superhuman abilities resulting from exposure to the Terrigen Mist. Her powers manifest as the ability to manipulate vibrations.

Depending on how involved S.H.I.E.L.D. will be with Thunderbolts, who knows, we might catch a glimpse of her. Most recently, Quake was rumored to join the MCU in ‘Secret Invasion,’ considering how much the show flopped, it’s better that the character wasn’t put anywhere near that project.
