Over the years, the MCU has introduced us to countless characters, including lead heroes, villains, and a myriad of supporting roles. With Marvel Studios creating the largest single-narrative cinematic universe to date, it continues to expand with no signs of stopping.

The MCU is undeniably something special, delivering remarkable characters and unforgettable stories. This article, however, takes a different angle.

Instead of focusing on the fan favorites or the strongest, we’re diving into a list of the 10 most hated MCU characters. Whether major or minor, these characters have sparked dislike among fans, and we’ll explain why each has earned a spot on this list.

10. Gorr

Unlike his comic book version, the MCU’s portrayal of Gorr was widely disliked, even by actor Christian Bale. Marvel took one of its most formidable villains and diminished his impact, both in terms of story and appearance.

In the comics, Gorr was a terrifying and formidable threat to the entire universe. However, in the movies, he became just another poorly executed villain, wasted in what many consider one of the MCU’s weakest film runs.

9. Jane Foster

While discussing the Thor movies, we can’t overlook Jane Foster. The character was never quite executed effectively, and even her transformation into Thor in Love and Thunder fell flat with many fans. Despite Natalie Portman’s popularity, Jane Foster never resonated well with audiences, and her role, even in a more empowered form, felt underwhelming and lacked impact.

8. Star-Lord

He often bears the brunt of the blame for everything that transpired at the end of the Infinity Saga, a consequence of poor writing. While Chris Pratt’s portrayal is humorous and enjoyable, fans still hold a grudge against the character, attributing much of the chaos to him.

This explains why he made it onto this list. Although his overall impact on the MCU doesn’t necessarily warrant such animosity, it’s understandable why he is viewed that way. Who are we to judge?

7. Sersi

We could have included nearly all the cast members of Eternals on this list, but the character fans dislike the most is undoubtedly Sersi, and it’s easy to see why. Although she was meant to be portrayed as a heroine and a savior, her execution fell flat.

Instead of coming across as relatable, she appeared cold and detached, lacking genuine emotions that would resonate with the audience. Despite this, the film continually placed her in the spotlight, leaving viewers with little reason to invest in her character.

6. Korg

The character who was beloved in Ragnarok turned into one of the most irritating figures in Love and Thunder. He appeared on screen too frequently, yet his role felt entirely insignificant. Despite being positioned as a source of comic relief, he failed to deliver on that front, which was expected given his primary function in the story. This is why fans began to dislike him.

5. Bill Maher

To be fair, he only appeared in a deleted scene from Iron Man 3, but his critiques of comic book culture after filming made him quite unpopular among MCU fans. Bill Maher is already a controversial figure, and his views only added to the backlash against him, landing him high on this list despite his brief and insignificant role in the MCU.

4. Megan Thee Stallion

If you recall the twerking scene from She-Hulk, you’ll understand why Megan Thee Stallion is featured on this list—she appeared as herself, after all. Was that scene completely out of place? Absolutely.

Did it warrant all the backlash it received? Not at all. Nevertheless, fans seem to hold the singer responsible, as she frequently comes up on lists like these, which is why we felt it necessary to include her here as well.

3. John Walker

When this character was introduced, he was met with widespread disdain for several reasons. First, he was positioned as Captain America but came across as a cartoonish imitation.

Second, he exhibited incompetence while pretending to be the best in the world. Third, he had a corrupt and narcissistic personality that made him even more unlikable. Although he found redemption by the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he remains one of the most hated characters, and rightfully so.

2. Elon Musk

Often regarded as one of the biggest liars and hypocrites of our time, Elon Musk made a brief cameo in the MCU during a period when he was somewhat reasonable. However, that has since changed, and now he is engaging in fictional battles against Disney and the concept of “wokeness.” Given this shift, it’s no surprise that many fans harbor animosity towards him.

1. Bill O’Reilly

At the top of the list is undoubtedly Bill O’Reilly. This conservative commentator made a cameo in the MCU, but he was just as detestable in that role as he is in real life. He claims the number one spot here without question. Why? Because he is Bill O’Reilly—there’s really no more to say.
