‘Thunderbolts*’ is just one of many upcoming projects scheduled to be released in 2025. Even though the movie doesn’t generate as much hype as ‘The Fantastic Four’ reboot or ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ so far if the rumors are true it does have the potential to be an exciting start of a new franchise.

We know that ‘Thunderbolts*’ will introduce a new team to the MCU, one similar to DC’s Suicide Squad, but according to the most recent rumors, it’s also going to introduce a new organization helmed by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Bucky Barnes, Ava Starr, John Walker, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster are some of the members expected to be a part of the team according to everything we know, and so you can notice, most of them aren’t that powerful, at least not powerful enough to stand up to Sentry.

Yes, Sentry will indeed appear in the movie, played by Lewis Pullman, and this has been one of the most criticized points of the movie. The fact that they will pit essentially enhanced humans against one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel comics currently.

Pullman also recently revealed some of the powers that Sentry will be using in the movie, and despite the actor claiming that this is shape-shifting, I believe that he misspoke and that what he is actually talking about is molecular manipulation:

The host and Pullman started talking about superpowers, and Pullman claimed that he would like to have shapeshifting, as in that way he can mimic all other powers.

I haven’t looked into Sentry, that’s the first I’ve heard that name but Sentry, sounds kind of snaky shape-shifty vibe.

So, how can Thunderbolts stand a chance against that? According to Daniel Richtman, a notable industry insider and leaker, they won’t have to – Sentry will in the movie follow “no kill rule.”

Of course, nobody expected Sentry to blast the Thunderbolts into oblivion, the movie would be over way too soon, but this seems like such an underwhelming explanation.
