Aubrey Plaza Teases Possible Romance Between Rio Vidal & Agatha Harkness in ‘Agatha All Along’

Less than two weeks stands between us and the release of ‘Agatha All Along’ the upcoming MCU project focusing on Agatha Harkness. Following the Scarlet Witch’s spell, Agatha finds a way to break the prison and return but she is powerless. Agatha will need to gather a makeshift coven of witches who dare to walk the witches’ road in order for Agatha to find her powers once again.

The show has an interesting premise and a stellar cast. The cast for the upcoming show features Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale. Ali Ahn will play Alice Wu-Gulliver, while Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili are set for roles yet to be confirmed. Debra Jo Rupp will appear as Sharon Davis, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, and Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal/Green Witch.

Now the show is currently undergoing an extensive marketing campaign and Aubrey Plaza playing Rio Vidal recently commented on her relationship with Agatha in the show:

I can’t say much, but obviously my character and Kathryn’s character have a really long history, that’s very complicated and charged and all the things. Buckle up.

This left many fans to wonder whether the two witches were previously in a relationship but eventually decided to go their own separate ways due to something horrible Agatha possibly has done to acquire power.

Hahn also confirmed this “charged” relationship while speaking with TV Line:

it felt super-charged every time we were doing any scenes together, which was thrilling.

If the two really turn out to be former lovers, they will join Joe Locke’s character as yet another example of queer representation within the MCU.
