Rio Vidal’s True Identity Reveal in ‘Agatha All Along’ Came at a Heartbreaking Cost

Episode 7 of ‘Agatha All Along’ just released. This week’s episode brought us Trial of Time and since Lilia Calderu is the divination witch, this trial was always going to be about her. If you can recall, Lilia Calderu has been dropping subtle, random but massive hints all throughout episodes.
She successfully delivered a list of coven members to Agatha, she predicted Alice’s death, and as she recently revealed, she saw what Billy Maximoff ultimately became and decided to put a sigil on him.
Her choice possibly also massively affected ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ as we recently theorized.
In any case, we’ve finally learned Lilia’s tragic backstory. Lilia was a little girl centuries ago in Sicily and she trained to be a witch along with the rest of her coven. We also learned that her coven was ultimately wiped out by a Plague.
We also learned that Lilia gets these random hints due to living her life out of sequence. The issue started when she was a young girl and eventually disappeared only to reappear again now that she walks the Witches Road.
The first time Lilia experienced this “time skip” was when she met Billy Kaplan at his Bar Mitzvah. She cast a sigil on him before he sadly died in a car accident and was then merged with the reincarnated Billy Maximoff.
To complete her trial, Lilia needed to figure out where the coven members were on the board and sadly accepted that she was going to die. Just before the trial ended, Lilia realized that her future led to death. The last coven member on the board was shown with a Death card, which confirmed what we suspected: that it was Rio Vidal.
But this revelation came with a massive price. Lilia was rarely ever wrong, and she wasn’t wrong here when the cards predicted that the road ahead of her was death.
When the coven successfully finished the trial by fire, Lilia stayed behind. As you’re likely aware the Salem’s Seven have been haunting the coven since before the group departed for the Witches Road.
Salem’s Seven are actually targeting Agatha, since she is responsible for the deaths of their mothers and foremothers, since the coven is aligned with Agatha this makes them fair targets as well.
Lilia stayed behind in the chamber where the trial was recently completed, aware that you should never overstay your welcome. She knew that something bad would happen when she started messing with the cards again.
She decided to turn the tower card upright which caused the whole room to be turned upside down and Salem’s Seven to literally fall on the swords that were previously hanging from the ceilings.
The cost was, that Lilia “fell” to her death as well, something that she also successfully predicted, presumably years ago but refused to accept.
Lilia has lived a long life, but failed to learn the lesson her Maestra wanted to impart to her – that death comes for us all. It’s only when Lilia accepts this, and realizes she needs to sacrifice herself for Billy’s story to be complete, that she is able to fully master her talents and get the control she needed over these random time-skips.
