Back in May 2020, the first speculations appeared that Disney might be working on a live-action adaptation of one of its most popular animated movies – ‘Tangled.’ Years later, in December 2024, Disney officially confirmed the live-action ‘Tangled’ film was in development. Michael Gracey, known for ‘The Greatest Showman’, was announced as the director, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson set to write the script. This news finally gave fans something to look forward to regarding a fresh take on the beloved story.

Last week, insider Daniel RPK shared that Kathryn Hahn was being considered for a part in Disney’s live-action ‘Tangled.’ Now, Florence Pugh is reportedly the top choice for the lead role of Rapunzel. This isn’t the first time her name has been linked to the project.

This past summer, there were reports that Florence Pugh was being considered for the role of Rapunzel in Disney’s live-action ‘Tangled.’ It seems Disney is still interested in her, which is a positive sign. Pugh is a highly sought-after actress and already has experience working with Disney as Yelena Belova in 2021’s ‘Black Widow.’ She’s set to return as the character in MCU ‘Thunderbolts*.’
