Ryan Reynolds brought his signature humor to the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special in New York City, making light of his and Blake Lively’s recent legal troubles in a playful moment during the event. The couple made their first public appearance together since Blake’s ongoing legal dispute with It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, began.

During the special, Saturday Night Live legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted a segment where they took questions from the audience. Ryan, always one to embrace a comedic opportunity, raised his hand.

Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?” Tina asked.

Feigning surprise, Ryan responded with a cheeky remark: “Great! Why, what have you heard?” The audience erupted into laughter, recognizing the subtle nod to the couple’s ongoing legal tensions.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Ryan and Blake appeared in good spirits, standing united throughout the event. The ongoing legal fight started during the filming for It Ends With Us.

Lively claims Baldoni, who directed and starred alongside her in ‘It Ends With Us,’ sexually harassed her on set and then tried to ruin her reputation when she spoke out. Baldoni denies the accusations and says Lively misrepresented their conversations. He also claims Lively and Reynolds pressured his talent agency, WME, to drop him, but WME says that’s not true.

Baldoni is in turn suing Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and the New York Times for defamation, saying they made him look bad by misusing text messages.

Lively’s legal filings claim Baldoni improvised physical intimacy without rehearsals or an intimacy coordinator. In his lawsuit against the New York Times, Baldoni says the outlet and actress left out that Lively refused to meet with the intimacy coordinator to plan the film’s sex scenes.
