‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ released this summer is the most recent MCU movie. The film was a major success and broke all kinds of box-office records, earning over a billion dollars. Based on numbers alone, the future for both Deadpool and Wolverine in the MCU looks bright, and Ryan Reynolds recently possibly teased a fraction of that future.
Reynolds recently teased a new possible project by posting a photograph of what appears to be a Christmas-themed set. Ryan can be seen half-dressed in his Deadpool costume hugging Leslie Uggams who famously portrayed Blind Al in several projects.
Based on the set, fans immediately started to guess that perhaps a new Special Presentation was in order. Feige teased a new special presentation several months ago. The producer claimed that more specials are in the works “fans just have to wait.”
This is not a surprise following the success of ‘Werewolf by Night’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special.’
However, we can’t rule out some kind of commercial or even a PG-13 cut of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The PG-13 cut of ‘Deadpool 2’ proved to be a major success so it stands to reason that the studio could attempt something like that once again.
In any case, if truly an MCU project is in the works that’s definitely good news. We know that Wolverine is heavily rumored to be featured in ‘Secret Wars’ however nothing is known about Deadpool’s next project, although some reports claim that the sequel to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is already being developed.
