‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is the next ‘Avengers’ movie that the fans can look forward to. The movie has a set release date of May 7th, 2027, and so far little is known about its plot. Well, except for what we find out via leaks and rumors that cannot exactly be verified. Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU, this time not as Iron Man but as Doctor Doom – “different mask, same task” the actor said while announcing his new role.

Based on everything we know via those leaks and rumors, we can expect the movie to adapt the “Time Runs Out” storyline, naturally with new twists created specifically for the MCU.

Plenty of characters are rumored to appear in ‘Doomsday,’ among them being Deadpool and Wolverine. Ever since the pair officially joined the MCU with the release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ fans have been actively petitioning to put them in as many projects are possible.

While Wolverine can definitely be a part of a diverse range of projects, no such thing can be said for Deadpool.

Reynolds recently had the opportunity to address the ‘Avengers’ rumors. He was asked about his potential role in ‘Doomsday’ and the answer is – there is no answer even Reynolds himself doesn’t know when his next appearance will be:

I’m not even being cagey. We’ll see what happens there.

It would make much more sense to put Deadpool in ‘Secret Wars’ considering that Jackman’s Wolverine is reportedly set to play a “bigger” role in the installment. However, it’s difficult to separate the rumors that are based in reality and completely fictitious reports since at this point there are over 50 characters rumored to appear in the movie.
