Sadie Sink Reacts to MCU’s X-Men Reboot Casting Rumors: “It’s News To Me”

The upcoming X-Men reboot in the MCU is one of the most highly anticipated projects for fans, as it will officially introduce the iconic mutant team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over from Fox’s previous X-Men franchise.
While details about the film remain scarce, Marvel Studios is aiming to strike a balance between humor and drama while introducing mutants who have yet to appear in live-action.
It was recently revealed that Michael Lesslie, best known for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, has been tapped to write the script. His strong pedigree makes him a promising choice for the reboot.
Reports suggest that Lesslie pitched a full X-Men ’97-inspired roster for the team. However, rumors indicate that Wolverine may not be included initially, as Hugh Jackman is expected to continue playing the character beyond Secret Wars.
If these rumors prove true, the MCU’s X-Men reboot could feature a lineup that includes Cyclops, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X, Morph, Bishop, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Sunspot. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, so these details remain speculative for now.
Recently, rumors spread like wildfire that Sadie Sink is in talks to play Jean Grey, one of the most notable X-Men in the team’s history. During her latest appearance on Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the actress addressed those rumors and well, she confirmed that the rumors were “news” for her too indicating that no deal has been offered or made between her and the studio.
“This is news to me.” Sink said. “I have nothing to say about this,” the actress said after she was asked whether she met Feige regarding Jean Grey.
“The rumors are really cool though,” she continued, “It’s an awesome rumor. It’s a great character so, it was cool to read.”
She was asked if a role with such a long-term commitment, typical of the MCU (which often lasts 10+ years), would appeal to her. The actress confirmed that it would be exciting, though it’s also possible she could be downplaying it and the deal may have already been made.
